Speech and Language Therapist - Hillingdon\n\nWe are a newly established, purpose-built SEN primary school located in the heart of Hillingdon, dedicated to providing high-quality, inclusive education for children aged 4-11 with a range of complex needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), and associated learning difficulties.\n\nOur multidisciplinary approach lies at the heart of everything we do. We believe in creating a nurturing, safe, and stimulating environment where pupils thrive, and staff are supported and valued.\n\nAbout the Role\n\nWe are seeking a passionate and experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join our dynamic team and make a real difference in the lives of our pupils. You will work collaboratively with teaching staff, parents, and the wider therapy team to support the communication development and functional communication skills of children with complex speech, language, and communication needs.\n\nThis is a fantastic opportunity from the ground up in a growing, forward-thinking SEN school.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nDeliver speech and language therapy interventions to pupils with a range of needs, including non-verbal communication, receptive and expressive language disorders, and social communication difficulties.\nCarry out assessments, create detailed therapy plans, and write professional reports including EHCP contributions and annual reviews.\nWork closely with teaching staff to support communication-friendly classrooms and embed therapeutic strategies into the curriculum.\nDeliver individual, group, and class-based therapy sessions.\nProvide training, support, and guidance to teaching and support staff to upskill their ability to meet pupils' communication needs.\nLiaise with families and external professionals to ensure joined-up working and consistency of approach.\n\nEssential Requirements\n\nRecognised Degree in Speech and Language Therapy\nRegistration with HCPC and membership of RCSLT\nExperience working with children with Autism and/or complex communication needs, ideally in an educational or SEN setting\nStrong understanding of relevant therapeutic approaches and evidence-based practice\nExcellent communication, interpersonal, and team-working skills\n\nDesirable\n\nExperience working in a school-based setting or newly opened provision\nKnowledge of AAC, Makaton, PECS, or TEACCH\nPrevious experience writing EHCP reports and attending annual reviews
