We seek a highly skilled and motivated Residential Conveyancing Paralegal / Legal Assistant to join our dynamic legal team. As a key member of our firm, you will provide comprehensive support in all aspects of residential conveyancing transactions. Your attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment will be crucial to your success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assisting in managing residential conveyancing transactions from start to finish, ensuring all legal requirements and deadlines are met.
2. Conducting thorough research and due diligence on properties, such as title searches, zoning regulations, and land registry records.
3. Preparing and reviewing legal documentation, including contracts, agreements, and deeds.
4. Liaising with clients, real estate agents, lenders, and other parties to ensure smooth communication and coordination.
5. Managing and maintaining accurate records, files, and databases related to conveyancing transactions.
6. Coordinating property inspections, surveys, and valuations as required.
7. Assisting with preparing completion statements, financial calculations, and billing.
8. Assisting with post-completion matters, such as land registration, stamp duty payments, and property transfers.
9. Keeping up-to-date with changes in legislation and regulations related to residential conveyancing.
10. Providing administrative support to the legal team, including scheduling appointments, managing correspondence, and organising meetings.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Minimum of 1 year of experience as a residential conveyancing paralegal or legal assistant.
2. Strong knowledge of residential conveyancing procedures, including property searches, title transfers, and completion processes.
3. Proficient in using conveyancing software and databases.
4. Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
5. Ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, building and maintaining relationships with clients and stakeholders.
7. High level of professionalism and integrity in handling confidential information.
8. Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations of residential conveyancing.
9. Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
10. A paralegal certificate or relevant legal qualification is preferred.
