The Opportunity
Given increased project expansion, our client is currently looking to expand their dynamic team of nuclear specialists and are searching the market for an experienced Assistant Risk Manager with experience in Risk Management support.
Working on the SZC framework, you will develop the skills and core nuclear understanding to be successful in the New Nuclear industry. You'll be positioned to benefit from the near and long-term trend for Nuclear power providing the baseload to global energy needs. The role
The purpose for you as the Assistant Risk Manager is to support risk management within a local SZC programme, assist with compliance with SZC's PMO risk management direction, and genuinely help safeguard the programme area from major overruns.
Your duties and responsibilities will be:
1. Linked capability to integrate/support project controls/project delivery/business support processes (e.g. Finance).
2. Understanding of scheduling methodologies in project/programme management, including hands-on experience of the leading software packages (Oracle P6/Microsoft Project or similar planning tools).
3. Comfortable with quantitative analysis and advanced forecasting i.e. Monte-Carlo methods, probabilistic forecasting, and optimisation.
4. Experience of developing large data models (QSRA/QCRA etc.) and their integration into decision-making processes.
5. Understanding of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) frameworks and standards.
You will have the following skills and experience:
1. Facilitation skills; able to help facilitate workshops within the programme under the direction of more senior risk professionals.
2. Technical skills; able to help deliver QRAs, spanning Cost QRAs and Schedule QRAs under direction of more senior risk professionals.
3. Engagement skills; able to engage teams under the direction of more senior risk professionals.
4. Demonstrable use of numerical and verbal communication skills within a business environment.
5. Membership of one or more risk or project management organisations e.g. APM, PMI, IRM, CERA or a suitable equivalent.
The setting for the role
Risks and Hazards are in line with working on a nuclear licensed site. These can include, nuclear fuel, radiation, chemicals and gases, high voltage equipment, moving vehicles, flammable materials, high pressure circuits, steam, high noise and vibration levels. A full site induction will be provided, and all safety requirements must be adhered to when entering the site.
