About the role
Responsible for ensuring the overall quality of company activities, supporting the quality manager by undertaking administration of NCR’s, investigating and maintaining standards, implementing systemic corrective actions, improving quality and contributing to Bridmet’s quality strategy while reducing cost of poor quality.
Responsibilities
1. Attend customer review meetings as requested by the quality manager, actively participating and contributing.
2. Complete customer NCR paperwork, assisting in investigations, identifying and implementing corrective actions.
3. Assist the quality manager in improving the customer quality experience, attending customer visits, creating and delivering control plans and communicating acceptance criteria/standards to the wider workforce.
4. Ensuring customer specifications are up to date and available to the shop floor.
5. Review and approve ECR’s ensuring quality is not adversely affected.
6. Analysis of data to identify trends and further actions.
7. Implement process improvements and corrective actions in liaison with the QC team.
8. Create and implement welding plans – WPS.
9. Supporting in ensuring the quality function is audit ready, assisting in audits and implementing feedback and actions.
10. Responsible for compliance with calibration and maintenance of inspection equipment.
11. Assist in the management of concession register and coordinating the submission/approval of concessions.
12. Actively increase product knowledge and apply to continuous improvements methods.
13. Highlight and escalate any deviation from accreditation and compliance requirements.
14. Monitor the effectiveness of QMS and identify improvements to quality policies, procedures, and processes.
Requirements
Essential:
* Ability to work under own initiative with good organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
* Good communication skills.
* Willingness to learn and develop.
* Problem solving, root cause analysis and corrective/preventative action tools.
Desirable:
* ONC/HNC in Engineering and/or associated experience.
* Experience carrying out internal/external audits.
* Demonstrated proven experience in Quality, OHS or EMS systems.
* Good knowledge and experience of reading and understanding engineering drawings.
* Sound knowledge of complex assembly, welding, sheet metal fabrication & associated manufacturing processes.
* Experience within a manufacturing environment, working knowledge of ISO 9001/45001/18001, sheet metal fabrication and welding processes.
