Organisation - RSPCA Llys Nini Animal Centre
Job Title - Chief Executive Officer
RSPCA Llys Nini Animal Centre
RSPCA Llys Nini is an independent, self-funding charity that is affiliated to the RSPCA and is one of its 135 branches in England and Wales.
Due to the vision, leadership and management skills of its Chair, staff and volunteers, Llys Nini has become one of the leading charities of its kind in the country. Whilst having a clear focus on animal welfare, as evidenced by the rehoming of over 22,500 cats, dogs and other animals over the past 25 years, Llys Nini has recognised the interdependency and importance of its community, local economy and environment.
The Board of Trustees is seeking to appoint a CEO who will build on this success to ensure that the organisation is resilient, sustainable, and that its structure and charitable status are fit for purpose to meet the ever-increasing challenges facing the sector.
Llys Nini’s annual income is over £2.5m, with expenditure around £2m. Our 11 shops across the Branch area play a fundamental role in generating income, as do important contributions from the fundraising team, together with rental incomes, external grants, and our community café and event rooms. The CEO will have a key role to play in supporting and developing these income streams, as well as identifying new sources of income.
The successful candidate will be a critical point of liaison between the staff and Board of Trustees, and make an important contribution to the organisation’s vision and strategy, whilst working with other members of the leadership team to ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness.
The newly appointed CEO will be expected to lead, manage and empower Llys Nini’s dedicated team of staff with a view to collectively achieving the organisation’s vision and strategy.
The ability to look outwards and to strengthen current – and forge new – partnerships across our local communities, while overseeing the charity’s operation and core functions, will be essential.
The role
As CEO, you will be responsible for the overall operational management of the organisation and for informing and implementing the trustees’ vision and strategies.
The role involves an executive level of duties with pivotal decision-making, affecting the future of the organisation and its employees.
The multi-faceted responsibilities will include managing and developing Llys Nini’s commercial activities, its property portfolio, and supporting the Animal Welfare Team in its delivery of effective and efficient animal welfare support.
The role will also involve liaising closely with Llys Nini’s trustees, collating and presenting data to help the trustees to develop a robust, sustainable strategy that will, in turn, enable us to deliver on the charity’s objectives.
