You will line manage and provide senior support to the Cancer Pathway and Fast-Track Team, leading the team in a manner that encourages striving for excellence, developing and embedding ways of working within services that deliver robust and efficient processes and comply with standard operating procedures. You will also respond to daily problems and ensure issues are swiftly resolved and implement longer term solutions to issues raised. You'll be part of a passionate team working within Cancer Services providing operational support. You must be able to communicate and work with staff internally and externally at all levels. In this role, we'll support your personal and professional development giving you access to trust wide learning and development programmes. The post holder is expected to have knowledge and experience of cancer pathways with experience of driving performance and service improvements within the acute hospital setting. Main duties of the job A Support Manager who has the responsibility to lead and manage the Cancer MDT Coordinators / Administrative Team and support the Cancer Services Manager in effectively managing and coordinating the staff planner and daily workload within Cancer Services including validation and proactive breach analysis of cancer pathways. Key responsibilities include the proactive management of available capacity using own initiative and knowledge to monitor key metrics and escalate issues impacting on cancer performance. The post-holder will be required to work across a range of IT systems and to be able to undertake a broad range of administrative tasks.
