The role sits within the Business Operations function, and you will work in the Centres team to directly support the day-to-day activity of the Centres’ activities.
This role will support I-LEAD, which is the Centre for Business Education. I-LEAD: Innovation, Leadership, Education and Development is focused on student success and addressing the gaps between traditional academic practices and the changing needs of students, business, and society in an equitable, inclusive, and sustainable way.
King’s Business School has four research centres, of which this role will primarily support the Centre for Sustainable Business. The Centre for Sustainable Business (CSB) is an inclusive and forward-thinking hub dedicated to addressing one of the most pressing questions in modern business: "How can businesses effectively transition to socially and environmentally sustainable practices?" CSB embodies a collaborative approach, working together with a broad array of stakeholders from academia, industry, public sector, and civil society - to foster innovative solutions.
About the role:
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the KBS Centres to deliver their planned activities for 2024–2026. Working closely with the Centre Managers, the post holder will assist in managing the Centres’ projects and day-to-day operations to deliver a high-performing Centres function in KBS. This includes providing high-quality administrative, operational, and project support, such as events and meeting coordination, procurement, diary management, and data reporting.
We are seeking candidates with a keen eye for detail and a strong background in business operations or administration. The post holder will be an important member of both the Centres’ and the wider Business Operations team, contributing to the running of events, financial processes, and communications.
Responsibilities include supporting the organisation of Centre events and seminars, handling essential business functions like processing financial data, monitoring budgets, maintaining records, and developing operational processes. The role will support the Centres' communication strategies by assisting with web content management and social media activities.
This is a full-time or 0.8% (37.5 Hours per week), and you will be offered a fixed-term contract until 31st December 2026.

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:
Essential criteria
1. Education to degree level or equivalent professional experience in operations, administration or projects
2. Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively and work to tight deadlines
3. Excellent numerical and data management skills with the ability to extract, analyse and present complex numerical data to enable effective, data-driven decisions
4. Excellent communication skills to allow engagement with a range of stakeholders at all levels
5. Ability to work independently, proactively, and flexibly, using own judgement and initiative when appropriate
6. Ability to contribute effectively as part of a team with a ‘hands-on’ approach to working
7. Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and confidence in learning new systems
Desirable criteria
1. Experience of web/social media – web updates, social media posting and newsletter writing
2. Project management coordination experience or qualification
3. Experience working in Higher Education, research, academic, or other non-profit sectors
