Due to the current business demands we are looking to recruit a suitably experienced Service Engineer to complement the current team. Role Summary: The role includes the installation of equipment on customer sites, carrying out preventative maintenance, and emergency breakdown service and repair. Technical support to customers over the telephone may also be required. Brief Description of Duties: Prepare, assemble and Install machines and tooling in accordance with best practice and guidance. Carry out preventative maintenance and emergency breakdown services on customer’s sites in an efficient, timely and cost-effective manner. Provide ‘hands-on’ training to customer’s operators and maintenance personnel. Provide technical support to customers via telephone and email, as required. Complete all relevant service reports and paperwork in a timely manner to meet customer and internal requirements. Maintain all tools and equipment (including van) in a clean, safe and usable condition. Maintain issued van stock of spares to ensure that, wherever possible, call-backs to customers are minimised. Comply with, all relevant legislation regarding Health and Safety and working practices. To undertake and attend any training or briefings necessary to meet the requirements of the role. Experience and Qualifications: Proven work experience as a Technical Service & Support Engineer or similar role. Good understanding of electrical & electronic systems – able to read electrical circuit drawings. Mechanical skills - familiar with basic mechanical assembly and installation. Electrical Qualification would be beneficial. Experience of pneumatic systems would be beneficial. Excellent problem solving / fault finding skills. Good communication skills – able to provide step-by-step technical help, both written and verbally, and provide clear and complete equipment service reports. Ideally apprentice trained to level 3 or above. IT Literate. Full UK Driving Licence (No more than 3 points). Salary: Competitive. Working hours: 40 hours per week.
