We are currently looking forcompassionate, knowledgeable and motivatedBand 5 Registered Mental Health Nursesto join our friendly team at Oak Tree Ward. We are a 17 bedded Older Adult Mental Health assessment mixed gender ward. We look after people living with conditions such as; Dementia, Depression, Anxiety, Schizoid-affective disorder, Bi-polar disorder. Including organic and functional mental health conditions
We have a diverse healthcare team of Nurses, Physiotherapists, Occupational therapists and Healthcare Assistant, Dance and Music Psychotherapists, Music Therapist, Healthcare Support workers, Dual trained band 5 nurses, Nursing associate, Clinical Team Leaders, Ward Managers, Junior Doctors, Specialist Registrars, Consultant psychiatrist and Volunteers from charitable organisations.
The successful applicant may have contact with patients or service users. As an NHS Trust we strongly encourage and support vaccination as this remains the best way to protect yourself, your family, your colleagues and of course patients and service users when working on our healthcare settings.
Main duties of the job
kThe successful candidate will be required to demonstrate the ability to work in a challenging and multi-agency environment, working as part of a multi-disciplinary team consisting of nursing and medical staff and a range of allied health professionals
Working with our service users to ensure daily activities of life is supported and maintained.
Safe administration of medication
Keeping the people who using our services as safe as possible through the use of sound clinical skills and effective risk assessments and management
Completing holistic care plans with service users and their families.
Referrals to external source's
Excellent communication with services and their family members
Ensuring the best possible clinical outcomes by keeping your skills up-to-date and adhering to evidence-based policies and procedures
Supervising other staff and students' nurses to ensure they are working to the standards which the people using our services deserve.
To liaise with others to share expertise, promote ideas and work collaboratively with key stakeholders, agencies and organisations as required.
Monitor and audit of the quality and effectiveness of all aspects of service delivery.
Maintaining safety of the ward, staff and services users by the upkeep of trust polices and procedures.

Education and Qualifications
Essential
1. Registered nurse
2. Numeracy skills required for the safe administration of medicines
Desirable
3. Evidence of relevant Continuous Professional Development
Previous Experience
Essential
4. You do not need previous experience as a registered nurse
5. You need previous experience of working in the mental health services either as a band 5 nurse, a student nurse or health care assistant.
Desirable
6. Experience working as a RGN/RMN in a Adult and or a Mental Health clinical setting
Skills and knowledge

7. Able to communicate with the multi-disciplinary team, present cases, take note of actions, update others in the team and use handover effectively. Speaking face to face but also by telephone and writing letters and reports.
8. Maintaining accurate, timely, concise and legible clinical records both electronic and handwritten which adhere to the CNWL policies
9. Able to talk to people about sensitive issues in a supportive manner but also challenge others assertively where necessary
10. Able to maintain electronic patient records Use Microsoft Word for letter and report writing
11. oWork well with other members of the team including communicating effectively, being kind and considerate, reliable and enthusiastic
