We are looking for an Aeroynamic Production Planning Engineer to join our F1 Team in Milton Keynes, UK.
In this role you will play a pivotal part in the scheduling and management of work and projects. Your responsibilities will include purchasing, supplier liaison, and driving process improvements for production-focused initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Areas that play to your strengths
All the responsibilities we'll trust you with:
* manage the scheduling of model builds and other production-led projects to guarantee on-time delivery of the project;
work with aerodynamic development groups to understand their requirements, advise on manufacturing feasibility & timescales, and set target dates;
work with internal production (Rapid Prototyping & Model Shop) to understand their requirements, advise on scheduling and set target dates;
oversight & daily review of the aero testing plan.
* foster strong supplier relationships, anticipate demand forecasts, and ensure active purchase orders align with production requirements;
strategically plan material procurement to ensure timely availability of components and minimize lead times;
sitch new ideas and propose solutions to make sure that aerodynamic test schedule runs smoothly and efficiently.
* support the rest of the department in ensuring a smooth and efficient testing process from aero concept through to wind tunnel test;
work with external suppliers to ensure technical and scheduling requirements are met;
provide flexible attendance and attitude to work, both in line with the requirements of the role and any specific requirements of the projects;
wo work in a professional manner at all times regardless of the task set and be pro-active in promoting a positive image for the department / team/ sponsors.
EXPERIENCE
Your areas of knowledge and expertise
that matter most for this role:
* Planning management experiencel, ideally in F1 or other engineering fast paced environment.
* Former experience in F1 preferred
* Strong, broad understanding of manufacturing & machining methods including rapid prototyping, CNC and ideally composites.
* Ability to understand and keep track of complex planning processes.
* Familiarity with ERP software (e.g. SAP, EPICOR)
* Familiarity with planning tools, methods & software.
* Able to deliver timely information and reporting.
* Able to communicate effectively.
* Initiative and innovation.
* Ability to deal with adversity and rapid change.
* Meticulous timekeeping and reliability.
* Ability to work with the team, external suppliers and colleagues.
* Fluency in English
* Travel 0-10%
