Fabricator Welder
Pay: £16.80 per hour / £34,944 per annum + plenty of overtime paid at a premium

Gi Pro are currently recruiting for Fabricator Welders or Plater Welders for our family-run client based in Scunthorpe.
With over 35 years' experience within the heavy steel engineering industry, they are looking to expand their team and can offer permanent roles with plenty of overtime and great rates of pay. This role will involve both workshop work in Scunthorpe and also working away nationally where expenses are paid and accommodation booked.
The company manufactures, fits, and installs a variety of structural steel products including access platforms, staircases, pipework, mezzanine flooring, and balustrades for a variety of industries. The ideal candidate will be skilled in MIG welding and fabrication and be flexible to work up to 60 hours per week, including working away from home when required.
Job Description
Responsibilities:
1. Welding and fabricating structural steel work
2. Predominantly mild steel, but could include some stainless and aluminium
3. Both workshop work and site work
4. Working nationally to fit and install the steel work
5. Some international travel may be required, paid at 24 hours per day whilst away
Essential Skills / Experience
1. Skilled in MIG Welding
2. Apprentice trained Plater would be very advantageous
3. Confident working with mild steel, stainless, and some aluminium
4. Structural steel experience essential
5. Ability to cut, drill, grind, and countersink
6. Able to fabricate from scratch
7. Confident reading and working from engineering drawings
8. Able to use a variety of fabrication machinery
9. No site tickets required - client will put employees through them if required
10. Ability to be flexible to work away as and when the business requires
11. Must have a passport for international travel
Desirable Skills
1. TIG welding would be advantageous
2. ASME IX coding would be very advantageous
3. Site work experience beneficial but not essential
Package / Benefits
Pay: £16.80 per hour / £34,944 per annum

2. Average working hours are 60 hours per week
3. When working away, expenses are paid and accommodation pre-booked
4. Working away is mostly Mon - Fri, returning home for the weekend
5. Overtime is paid at time ½ after 40 hours and double time at the weekend
