Science Teacher - SEMH Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Science Teacher to join a dedicated SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) school in Carshalton. The school caters to pupils across all Key Stages who present with SEMH needs, including complex social, emotional, and behavioural challenges. Some students also have associated learning difficulties. A strong background or genuine interest in working with SEMH children and young people is essential.
Key Responsibilities
1. Curriculum Delivery:Plan, prepare, and teach engaging Science lessons that cater to a diverse range of needs across all key stages.
2. Department Leadership:Develop schemes of work in line with school policy and external requirements. Manage department resources, including budgeting and procurement.
3. Assessment and Progress:Monitor and track student progress within the subject area, ensuring accurate examination entries in collaboration with the Examinations Officer and Assistant Headteacher.
4. Student Engagement:Motivate pupils through imaginative and enthusiastic teaching. Provide constructive feedback to support their academic and personal development.
