Job summary
Local Security Management Specialist will provide excellent security management throughout the Trust in order to keep our staff, visitors, people who use services and working environments safe. The Local Security Management Specialist will also provide inspirational leadership to staff in relation to the effective mitigation and management of risk. The Local Security Management Specialist is a strategic thinker with a passion for enhancing security management across the Trust. They will possess exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organisation and have a proven track record of developing and implementing security strategies that align with organisational goals, as well as experience in managing complex security challenges in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Essential
11. Minimum of 5 years in a strategic security role within a large, multi-site mental health NHS organisation.
12. Proven track record of leading security strategy development and execution.
13. Extensive experience in stakeholder management and collaboration with law enforcement and external agencies.
14. Expertise in security risk management, including strategic oversight of complex security projects and initiatives.
15. CCTV Management - Advanced understanding of operations.
16. Training and Policy Development - Experience in training groups, developing, and reviewing security policies and procedure.
17. Specialised Security Risk Management - Experience in challenging environments, particularly in mental health.
18. Emergency Preparedness - Experience in planning and responding to emergencies, ensuring business continuity and incident response.
Desirable
19. Good communication/collaboration skills.
20. Property and People Protection - Extensive experience in safeguarding property and individuals.
21. Audit and Inspection - Conducting audits and formulating action plans independently.
22. People Management - Effective leadership in managing staff.

Qualifications

24. NHS Protect Accredited Local Security Management Specialist with a minimum of 3 years of strategic security management experience.
25. Degree-level education or equivalent, with significant experience in acute mental health or learning disability services.
26. Management qualification or equivalent experience - demonstrated management skills and experience.
