Long-term Teachers work closely with this fantastic special school in Swindon that look after students aged 11-19 with Social, Emotional & Mental Health needs.
The school require someone that is able to essentially be the all rounder - plugging gaps across the school. The main purpose of the HLTA is to provide cover in classes, so you will be expected to lead lessons of pre-planned cover in a range of subjects. You don't necessarily need to be an expert in the subject you are leading - you must be confident though in classroom management.
This role is suitable for a range of different applicants; you could be an experienced TA looking for more responsibility, or an unqualified teacher wanting a full-time role. What is essential for the school is that you have experience working with SEMH & secondary age. This school are such a rewarding place to work but it is also challenging - you must be someone who is up for the challenge!
