BCS is seeking a dynamic Tax Supervisor and/or Manager to join our growing Tax practice in Johnson City. This is an exciting opportunity to work for one of the most respected Regional Firms.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities (but not limited to):
1. Manage and mentor members of Tax teams to greater levels of effectiveness and engagement.
2. Review and manage tax engagements.
3. Assume full responsibility for directing large engagements and special assignments.
4. Supervise the assignment of duties to, and the training of, staff and senior accountants assigned to engagements.
5. Monitor and manage time budgets for the office.
6. Maintain effective control procedures over all aspects of the Tax process.
7. Demonstrate a high level of technical proficiency.
8. Demonstrate an understanding of business issues relating to complex transactions.
9. Work and communicate effectively with clients to enhance their understanding of business and tax issues.
10. Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments, and communicate the effects of these developments to the tax team.
11. Review and correspond with the IRS and Department of Revenue as it relates to audits and notifications.
12. Demonstrate an awareness of firm software packages and the ability to use such software effectively and efficiently.
13. Self-Directed, Autonomous, Ambitious.
14. Exceptional and proactive communicator (verbal & written).
Education and Experience Required:
1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting required; master’s degree in accounting preferred.
2. Current CPA license required.
3. 6-8 years of experience in preparing and reviewing individual, partnership, and corporate tax returns.
4. Prior Public Accounting Experience required.
