Job Description
General Purpose:
The general laborer is responsible for performing facility cleaning and maintenance and material processing line work in a safe and efficient manner.
Primary Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
* Perform all duties in a safe and efficient manner according to all relevant local, state, and federal regulations and all company policies and procedures.
* Respond to work orders for cleaning/painting, minor repairs.
* Pressure wash floors in wastewater treatment section of plant and use vacuum drum to clean up washwater from sumps.
* Perform minor preventative and other maintenance on equipment.
* Clean facility grounds and equipment as scheduled or necessary.
* Paint and decal above ground storage tanks on an annual timeline or as needed.
This position requires the ability to work overtime and various shifts which may include occasional weekends.
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
* High school diploma or GED.
* Basic knowledge of equipment inspection.
* Ability to communicate and document inspections.
* Ability to work independently in a safe and efficient manner and follow safety policies and procedures.
Physical and Mental Demands
* Ability to perform the physical requirements of the job responsibilities including lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, reaching, carrying, and extended periods of standing.
* May be exposed to extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, precipitation, wind, etc.) and to dust, and noise.
* May be exposed to significant truck and heavy equipment traffic.
* Ability to sit, and/or stand for 100% of an 8-hour day.
* Ability to deal politely and professionally with customers and/or coworkers.
* Ability to manage several tasks at once to meet deadlines.
* Ability to follow direction or instruction.
