Turner Lovell is recruiting for a Power Electronics Engineer for a leading engineering & manufacturing company at the forefront of power conversion and electrification of the world's energy infrastructure. They produce electrical and mechanical equipment for industrial, marine and renewable energy applications.
As a Power Electronics Engineer, you will be responsible for developing power electronics designs at both low and medium voltage levels for Drive System projects. In this role, you will be working with a multi-disciplinary team to assist in manufacturing and validating power electronics systems for naval/commercial marine, energy, and industrial projects.

Key Responsibilities:
* Specify and design power electronics converters to meet specific requirements.
* Handle all circuit design aspects like snubber, gating electronics, and thermal management using semiconductor device knowledge.
* Develop analysis and modelling tools for megawatt power electronic converter systems.
* Test, evaluate, and optimize low and medium voltage power electronic systems.
* Support project execution - on-time, cost, quality.
* Assist tendering, testing, and commissioning teams.
* Coordinate with customers, suppliers, and subcontractors.
Ideal Background:
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a similar field (Masters/PhD preferred).
* Expertise in power electronics converter design and electrical machine control methods.
* Strong knowledge of semiconductor devices, gating electronics, snubber circuits, and thermal design.
* Proficiency with design tools such as EPLAN, Mathcad, MATLAB, Simulink, PLECS, etc.
* Willingness to obtain security clearance in the UK.
