Job Description We are seeking a talented SQL Database Administrator DBA to join our team based from Helensburgh. Initially a 12 Month FTC (Fixed Term Contract) with potential for extension. This role benefits from or 4xFlex working pattern, offering a 4 day week Mon - Thu. We're also offering hybrid working with this role typically having 1 day a week onsite in Helensburgh and 3 days working from home. The successful candidate will be responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of our databases. They will also be involved in the planning and development of the database, as well as troubleshooting any issues on behalf of the users. Key Responsibilities: Manage, configure, and maintain database management systems (DBMS) to ensure optimal performance. Design, implement, and monitor database solutions to ensure data integrity and security. Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime and data loss. Perform database tuning, capacity planning, and regular updates. Develop, implement, and test backup and recovery plans. Collaborate with developers to design database schemas, indexes, and complex SQL queries. Automate routine database tasks using scripts and tools. Document database configurations, procedures, and updates. Ensure compliance with data privacy and protection regulations. Proven experience as an SQL Database Administrator DBA Database Management Systems : Proficiency in MS SQL Server SQL Expertise : Strong knowledge of SQL and experience in writing complex queries. Database Tuning : Experience in optimizing and tuning database performance. Backup and Recovery : Proficiency in implementing and managing database backup and recovery plans. Security : Knowledge of database security practices and data protection regulations. Problem-Solving : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve database issues. Scripting : Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python to automate tasks.
