Description About the Role To participate in and contribute to the efficient, safe and timely turnaround of scheduled and non-scheduled aircraft services in line with company, airline and regulatory policies whilst delivering high quality standards which show the company to be providing the best possible service to its customers, airlines and industry regulators. What you'll be doing To carry out the various tasks necessary to achieve a safe and timely turnaround of scheduled or non-scheduled aircraft services operating into or from Cornwall Airport Newquay under, but not restricted to, the following main headings: a. Aircraft Preparation i Carry out scheduled cabin cleaning. ii Carry out scheduled cabin tidying alongside ad-hoc requests as arranged through the flight crew and/or the airside co-ordinator iii Replenish Aircraft Catering – As scheduled b. Aircraft Servicing i Connecting, operating and disconnecting a Ground Power unit to aircraft. ii Connecting, operating and disconnecting an Air-Start Unit to aircraft. iii Replenishing aircraft potable water. iv Carry out an aircraft toilet service. c. Aircraft Turnaround i Aircraft marshalling to position on apron. ii Positioning of aircraft wheel chocks. iii Deployment of Passenger Integrated Guidance System (PIGS) and Cones. iv Positioning of aircraft steps and assistance ramps. v Loading & unloading of baggage. vi Baggage reconciliation checks and Loading Instruction Reporting (LIR). vii Passengers with Reduced Mobility (PRM) assistance as required, including the boarding of WCHR/WCHC/WCHS passengers. viii Headset communications with flight crews for pre-taxi checks. ix Aircraft Push-back & Towing. d. Ancillary Tasks i Routine vehicle and equipment checks. ii Defect reporting of vehicle and equipment faults. iii Fuel issues to vehicles and ground equipment. iv FODBOSS sweeping. v Aerodrome operations such as surface anti-icing, de-icing or snow clearing. vi Implementation of Station Emergency Procedures (SEP). vii Other service provisions to stakeholders based on the aerodrome as arranged with the Airside Co-ordinator 2.3 All tasks will be carried out in accordance with agreed contracted procedures or the instructions laid down in specific airline Ground Handling Manuals (GHM). Where neither of these cover a particular task or part thereof, the standards laid down in the IATA Airport Handling Manual (AHM) will be adopted. Should clear guidance not be available from these sources then Cornwall Airport Ltd will develop its own policy based on the information gleaned from all three documents. 2.4 It is impossible to cover every eventuality within this job scope. Accordingly, an ASO must be prepared to carry out any other task that can be reasonably and fairly expected of them, within their training and capability, as requested by line/operational management, to assist the airport operation.
