Procurement Manager
Kinetic Recruitment are looking to recruit a Procurement Manager to work for a leading company based in Deeside. This is a permanent position.
As the Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for developing long-term plans to ensure goods and services critical to company objectives are supplied in a timely manner. This includes managing the purchase of all direct and indirect materials to achieve optimal cost and quality results, while respecting all regulations and principles of the integrated management system and participating in their building and maintenance.
Responsibilities
1. Ensure adherence to all company policies and prevailing business regulations.
2. Develop sourcing strategies for all categories of spend.
3. Work closely with Innovation and Engineering to ensure channels of supply are at the lowest total cost, not just the lowest purchase price.
4. Manage the supply base and ensure alignment with business strategy.
5. Produce an annual Purchasing Plan.
6. Manage the purchase of direct and indirect materials by negotiating the terms of business relationships.
Main Duties
1. Achieve the lowest cost of acquisition across multiple suppliers, categories of spend and location.
2. Ensure value-added collaboration between departments, sites, and business areas.
3. Ensure that our Terms and Conditions of Purchase are used in all contracts for supply and updated to reflect legal and group requirements.
4. Coordinate and monitor the maintenance or improvement in our Terms of Payment in line with ongoing business requirements.
5. Establish Contracts of Supply and Pricing Agreements where applicable for significant suppliers.
6. Maintain all relevant cost and lead time information required for all major business processes.
7. Direct the sourcing and evaluation of new suppliers where required, as part of our continuous improvement philosophy.
8. Provide the Operations director with performance reports when required.
9. Chair Key Supplier Meetings where applicable and maintain this supplier development strategy.
10. Compile and communicate all monthly and quarterly KPIs to senior management.
11. Establish training and development needs for the wider procurement community.
12. Lead all key negotiations.
13. Formulate Capex strategy and a robust competitive environment for our existing and new suppliers.
14. Demonstrate excellent communication skills with stakeholders across the business.
15. Be a champion for purchasing and related processes.
16. Leverage group spends and achieve the lowest Total Acquisition Cost.
17. Develop and guide suppliers towards providing added value processes, products, and services.
Qualifications
1. Education: Bachelor's degree in a business, engineering, or an equivalent discipline desirable.
2. Certification: CIPS Certificate.
3. Experience: Minimum of five years' experience within a purchasing environment, preferably in a supervisory role.
4. Experience working with multiple suppliers and a large number of products.
5. Experience with large complex datasets.
6. Proficient in the use of MS Office and D365 ERP system.
7. Experience managing a team centered around problem-solving and product availability.
8. Vendor negotiations and undertaking complex and substantial negotiations.
This is a UK Office based role with frequent local and possible international travel. Occasional out-of-hours working may be required to accommodate time zone variation. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5pm. Salary is £50,000 to £54,000 dependent on experience.
