Horizon Teachers are working with an Ofsted rated Good' Primary School based in Bromley, assisting in their search for a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team starting after the Easter Holidays until the end of July.
This is a part-time position with potential to progress into a full-time position further down the line. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who has a genuine passion for working with children and wants to continue developing as a SEND Teaching Assistant.
The role
Support a child with SEND on a 1:1 basis, in and out of the classroom.
Implement strategies to support emotional regulation and social interactions.
Work closely with the class teacher and SENDCO to adapt learning materials.
Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
Assist with communication and language development using recommended strategies.
Support the child's participation in group activities and transitions.
Monitor progress and provide feedback to teachers and external professionals.
About you
Previous experience working with children with Special Educational Needs.
Experience working with children with SEMH needs and/or speech and language delay (desirable but not essential).
A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to supporting children with complex needs.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
