Axi Recruitment is working with an established business in Hull for a Purchasing Assistant to join their team. The successful candidate will ideally have experience within procurement and be able to problem-solve and identify cost-saving solutions.
Role:
* Work with the Purchasing Team to place purchase orders for specific product categories.
* Liaise with suppliers to obtain order confirmations and delivery dates.
* Review and action outstanding purchase order reports including updating system and liaising with the Sales Administration Team.
* Action any potential stock level and supply chain issues within your specific product categories.
* Liaise with transport companies to book in deliveries and update system with dates accordingly.
* Work closely with all internal departments regarding the administrative aspects of purchasing.
* Be involved in supplier meetings.
* Assist in the sourcing of products.
Experience:
* Have a proactive and positive approach with strong analytical skills for facts and figures
* Experience in a similar role advantageous.
* Good problem-solving skills with experience in negotiation.
* Ability to work under pressure.
* Strong IT literacy and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
* Good understanding of the supply chain and procurement process.
* Attention to detail and good organisational skills.
* Ability to establish and maintain supplier relationships.
* Be analytical and proactive.
