VISION AND PURPOSE
To monitor the behaviour of students in the inclusion centre providing them with opportunities to reflect on their actions and improve their attitude to learning.
Main Duties:
* Co-ordinate and monitor a range of provision for pupils who present with challenging behaviour.
* Deliver packages of support to students who are at risk of exclusion or are experiencing significant issues that are damaging their academic progression.
* Supervise and monitor pupils in the Inclusion Room and those who are identified by the on-call system.
* Co-ordinate and monitor provision for pupils placed in the Inclusion Room by liaising with teaching staff to provide suitable work.
* Support the pastoral team in developing and delivering a holistic package of support for vulnerable students.
* Act as a contact for, and provide regular communications with, parents and attend and provide support at parent meetings in order to meet and discuss aspects of relevant pupil performance and find solutions to any potential problems.
* Support specific students at tier 2 of our intervention programme.
* Design and deliver a comprehensive suite of programmes around social skills and behaviour.
* Train pastoral staff to deliver packages of support where appropriate.
* Contribute to the on-call system.
* Monitor and plan interventions on behaviour data working with the pastoral leads, SENCO, academy counsellor and other support.
* Support safeguarding processes.
* Promote the school’s ethos and ensure school policies are adhered to.
King Edward VI Sheldon Heath Academy is a mixed 11-18 academy serving a vibrant and diverse community. Judged to be Good by Ofsted (February 2023), we are proud of our committed staff and aspirational pupils. We are looking to appoint an Inclusion Centre Manager to join our large inclusion team. The successful candidate will oversee our Inclusion Centre, supporting and mentoring pupils to secure positive engagement in learning. The role will include liaison with a range of professionals in school and providing support for our on-call system.
