Practice Plus Group are pleased to announce that they will be taking over the healthcare contract at HMP Garth, a Category B prison in Lancashire from 1st April 2025.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Night Nurse to join our team there from April. The prison houses around 1500 men with a variety of health needs and within this role, you’ll be an integral part of the healthcare team. Within this role, you will work within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a nurse led service and prevent hospital admissions.
Salary
This position is full time working 37.5 hours per week. You will receive an annual salary of between £33232 and £40211 per annum depending on experience.
Hours
We will provide a 24 hour service at HMP Garth so you will be required to work shifts covering nights and weekends where applicable.

What you'll be doing
As our new Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:
* Provide outstanding quality based care to all patients
* Deliver personalised, non-judgmental care, based on patient feedback
* Undertake medication rounds
* Dispense controlled medication
* Attend emergency response situations
* Deliver nurse led clinics to your patient group

Qualifications required:
* Registered nurse – Adult
* Current professional qualification (NMC)
* Evidence of Continued Professional Development
* Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working
* A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
* Excellent communication skills
Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
