Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing care and assistance to individuals in need, ensuring their comfort and well-being. This position requires a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those we support, whether they are children, seniors, or individuals requiring specialised care.
Responsibilities
1. Provide personal care and support to clients in their homes or designated facilities.
2. Assist with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and meal preparation.
3. Offer companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
4. Implement behaviour management strategies as needed to support clients effectively.
5. Administer first aid and respond to emergencies as required, ensuring the safety of clients at all times.
6. Maintain accurate records of client care and report any changes in health or behaviour to the appropriate professionals.
7. Collaborate with healthcare professionals, families, and other caregivers to develop and implement individual care plans.
8. Drive clients to appointments or social activities as necessary, promoting their independence and engagement within the community.
Experience
1. Previous experience in childcare, home care, or patient care is highly desirable.
2. Familiarity with hospice care or senior care practices is an advantage.
3. Certification in first aid is preferred; willingness to obtain certification if not already held is essential.
4. Skills in behaviour management will be beneficial for supporting clients with specific needs.
5. A valid driving licence is required for transporting clients as part of the role.
6. A background in nursing or related fields is advantageous but not mandatory.
