Overview:
Join our clients dynamic team, where they are committed to delivering cutting-edge architectural solutions for the Ministry of Defence (MOD). They are looking for a highly skilled Senior Architect to work on MOD projects to lead our innovative and challenging initiatives. This role is based in Glasgow and offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to significant national infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead the architectural design and project management of MOD projects from conception to completion.
2. Develop detailed project plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
3. Ensure compliance with MOD standards, building regulations, and health and safety requirements.
4. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, contractors, and clients, to ensure project goals are met.
5. Oversee the preparation of architectural drawings, specifications, and other project documentation.
6. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior architects and architectural assistants.
7. Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure project progress and quality.
8. Manage project budgets and timelines effectively, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
9. Participate in client meetings, presentations, and stakeholder consultations.
10. Stay updated with industry trends, innovations, and best practices, particularly related to MOD requirements.
Requirements:
11. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture.
12. Chartered status with RIBA or equivalent professional body.
13. Minimum of 8 years of professional experience, with significant experience in MOD projects.
14. Proven track record of managing large-scale, complex architectural projects.
15. Strong understanding of MOD design standards, security requirements, and regulatory compliance.
16. Excellent project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
17. Proficiency in architectural design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp).
18. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
19. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
20. Willingness to travel for site visits and meetings as required.
Desirable:
21. Experience with sustainable design and construction practices.
22. Familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modeling) processes and tools.
23. Security clearance or the ability to obtain it.
