About the client
Morgan Law is seeking an Interim Finance Business Partner (MTFP) for a local authority in the southeast of England, outside of London.
Accountabilities
1. Ensuring the requirements of the Council's financial strategy are met.
2. Identifying savings within the financial budget to support the medium-term financial plan (MTFP).
3. Responsible for the production of annual budgets, forecasting outturns, and monitoring reports to deliver a robust medium-term financial position across the Council.
4. Work collaboratively with Directors and Heads of Service in their departments and members to ensure an integral part of decision-making and a key player in all major pieces of work and projects.
5. Respond to information requests quickly and accurately.
6. Provide financial reports for departmental meetings as required.
7. Provide specialist technical advice relating to their areas of responsibility.
8. Provide advice and support regarding the financial aspects of local systems, ensuring processes and procedures are robust, conform to best professional practice, and provide value for money.
9. Evaluate legislative and policy changes and assess the financial impact on the service.
Candidate Requirements
1. CCAB or CIMA Qualified with post qualification finance/accounting experience (E).
2. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
3. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
4. Strong MTFP/MTFS experience working in a local authority organisation (E).
5. Strong strategic FBP experience working in a local authority organisation (E).
6. Immediately available for work (E).
