Service improvement: Deliver sustainable change to the cancer pathways which improve Trust performance against the CWT standards and improve patient outcomes. Use process mapping, and demand and capacity tools, to understand the current state of the cancer pathways. Design and undertake on-site observations and patient tracking as part of service review. Apply appropriate service improvement tools and techniques to improve the current situation e.g., PDSA model. Deliver cancer pathway improvements as dictated by the Peninsula Cancer Alliance, such as the Best Practice Timed Pathways (BPTPs). Collaborate with other Trusts within the Peninsula to reduce variation in cancer performance across the region. Collaborate with the Digital Automation Team and use Robotic Process Automation (RPA) technology to modernise processes and procedures. Facilitate all aspects of service improvement projects including planning, delivery, and evaluation. Monitor progress against plans and implement changes to ensure deliver to time, quality and cost. Challenge and support teams to ensure that changes are patient focused. Create Standard Operating Procedures, aligned to the Cancer Operational Policy, to document service developments and to facilitate training. Use Cancer Alliance Funding diligently to enhance cancer services and pathway developments. Information management: Work closely with Performance Information to create reports, which will involve providing and receiving complex information. Analyse and interpret raw data from iPM, Somerset Cancer Register and other local and national sources and produce reports, providing options and recommendations for change. Select and use appropriate IT software (e.g., Excel, Visio, PowerPoint) to obtain, analyse and present information. Host the weekly Cancer Performance Improvement Meeting and ensure the Cancer Action Plan is updated, then shared with a wide audience across organisational boundaries. General responsibilities: Develop appropriate system to manage their own workload and use own initiative. Identify / suggest new ways of working both within Cancer Services and the Cancer MDTs. Share the responsibility of hosting the daily Cancer Huddle. To assist the Cancer Performance Manager across full range of duties Represent the Cancer Services team and where necessary report regularly on progress, outcomes, and issues. Attend regular meetings with the Peninsula Cancer Alliance and other stakeholders. Opportunity to be involved in departmental management.
