* Collaborating on campaign tactics across various channels and implementing bespoke communication strategies.
* Drafting press releases and managing media relationships, including effective media pitching.
* Reviewing and presenting progress on campaigns, identifying gaps, and recommending improvements.
* Communicating effectively with the team and clients, managing expectations, and escalating issues as needed.
* Building trusted relationships with clients and managing deliverables.
* Understanding the importance of client service and profitability while working within budget constraints.
* Preparing for regular meetings, producing agendas and notes, and supporting presentations.
Copy
* Excellent written communication skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
* Adept at digesting and synthesising information on complex subjects.
* Detail-oriented with proofreading skills.
Design
* A basic working knowledge of Canva is desirable, with a discerning visual eye.
Software
* Comfort with cloud-based filing systems and online meetings is essential.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly in developing templates for Word and PowerPoint, is advantageous.
Social media
* Understanding of the social media landscape and tailoring content for different channels.
* Ability to quickly develop content in response to project updates or relevant news.
Media
* Development of media skills with support to understand media opportunities and build relationships with journalists.
* Proactive in seeking media coverage opportunities for clients.
Meetings
* Adept at taking minutes and providing updates during meetings.
* Comfortable participating in meetings and providing updates to clients and colleagues.
You will be:
* A passionate communications professional with a background in science and/or policy communication, ideally in marine or environmental issues.
* An exceptional writer and storyteller with good interpersonal skills.
* Self-sufficient and capable of managing your workload.
* Plugged into the news and policy agenda, cultural and social trends.
* Adept at teamwork and keeping colleagues informed on project updates.
* Flexible in your approach to support multiple projects and clients.
* Passionate about the environment and sustainability issues.
Benefits:
* Flexible working: core hours 10am-4pm with 2 days per week in the office.
* 25 days holiday (plus your birthday off and an additional day for volunteering).
* Twice yearly training sessions and monthly CPD time.
* Access to an Employee Assistance Program.
