More information is available on our Career site at www.fife.gov.uk/jobs/supportingstatement Job Details Electrical Inspector within Property Services carrying out a lead role in relation to the management of Electrical Services and Appliances in Fife Council non-domestic buildings whilst also undertaking Electrical Inspector duties for a limited number of buildings. You will be responsible for reviewing reports arising from all Electrical related contractor risk assessments and monitoring activities. Identifying priorities and commissioning arising works identified by the Service Contractors as appropriate and ensuring any remedial works are promptly delivered and updating records to reflect. You will also provide guidance to all Inspectors in relation to Electrical matters as required and ensuring Inspectors are made aware of any issues arising in buildings which they are responsible for. You will liaise with the Service Contractors/Building Services through regular meetings and provide feedback to the contract administrator. You will also be responsible for the operation and maintenance aspects of all electrical functions in properties within an area of responsibility. You will be responsible for monitoring the effective operation of electrical systems within Council buildings including systems such as lighting/power, storage heaters, fire/intruder alarms, lifts, UPS, public clocks, lighting protection, etc. A link to the role profile is included at the bottom of the advert. You will find out more about the job and the type of person we are looking for. The Person Experience of working in a building engineering services environment across a wide range of building types. Educated to SCQF level 7 which includes HNC or Advanced Highers or equivalent in a relevant discipline along with considerable post qualifying experience in an appropriate post. Experience of working in a similar role or a technical background in a mechanical engineering services (building) related discipline is essential and it would be advantageous to have knowledge of Construction (Design & Management) Regulations and Health and safety Legislation.
