Role: Locum Paediatric Sleep Physiologist Location: London Hours: Full-time/Part-time Start Date: 22/08/2024 Rate: £28 - £35 per hour Duration: 3 Months About the role: The Clinical Physiology team at Pulse is seeking a dedicated and experienced Paediatric Sleep Physiologist to join our team in Central London. This role offers flexibility with both full-time and part-time positions available. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care and support to paediatric patients with sleep disorders. Duties and Responsibilities: You will conduct and interpret sleep studies for paediatric patients, including those dependent on oxygen, non-invasive ventilation, or invasive (tracheostomy) ventilation. You will oversee the setup and monitoring of sleep studies, ensuring accurate data collection and patient comfort. You will provide pre-admission telephone consultations, meet and greet patients and their families, and explain procedures. You will collaborate with medical, scientific, and nursing staff to deliver a comprehensive paediatric sleep service. You will report and communicate findings to the referring paediatric respiratory consultant in a timely manner. You will participate in the home sleep service during office hours and work occasional night shifts to optimize inpatient ventilator support. You will maintain accurate and detailed patient records. Qualifications and Experience: Essential: BSc in Clinical Physiology or equivalent. Accredited by the British Society of Echocardiography (BSE) or equivalent accreditation (EACVI/ARDMS). Experience in paediatric sleep studies and respiratory physiology. Strong understanding of sleep disorders and their management in children. Desirable: Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
