Goods-In Inspector Are you an experienced Goods-In Inspector with a keen eye for detail and a strong background in mechanical or electronic inspection? We are looking for a meticulous professional to join a dedicated quality assurance team, ensuring only the highest-quality components reach production. About the Role As a Goods-In Inspector, you will be responsible for inspecting incoming mechanical and electrical products, ensuring they meet required specifications. This includes logging items into the system, conducting thorough inspections of printed circuit boards, and managing non-conforming materials. Your role will be pivotal in maintaining high-quality standards and working collaboratively with suppliers and internal teams to resolve quality issues. Key Responsibilities Log incoming items into the system upon arrival. Inspect all mechanical and electrical products using inspection plans. Carry out first article inspections, including detailed reports. Inspect bare printed circuit boards to industry standards. Work closely with suppliers to resolve non-conforming material issues and coordinate corrective actions. Manage the approval of solder samples and transfer inspected circuit boards to the SMT store. Liaise with production, engineering, purchasing, and key account managers to address product quality concerns. Process reject documentation and customer RMAs. Take a proactive approach to quality problem resolution. Skills and Experience Essential: Strong mechanical/electronics background. Proficiency in using metrology tools such as vernier calipers, micrometers, and measuring equipment. Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical engineering drawings. Understanding of technical drawings, measurements, and tolerances. Experience inspecting parts to IPC 600 standards. Strong attention to detail with an organised and efficient approach. IT proficiency, including experience using MS Excel. Excellent interpersonal skills and a flexible, adaptable work style. Problem-solving mindset with a proactive, 'can-do' attitude. Desirable: Experience in PCB manufacturing, particularly in an inspection role. Familiarity with IPC 610 and IPC 620 inspection standards. Experience working in a medical sector environment within ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 frameworks. Internal QMS auditing experience (ISO 9001/ISO 13485). Qualifications Essential: A relevant college-level qualification (A-level, BTEC, C&G, NVQ, etc.) Desirable: Electronics-based qualifications. IPC-600 Certification. CQI Professional Qualification.
