The Development Planning Team’s interaction with Local Planning Authorities and developer customers for your designated areas. You will process pre-planning enquiries, planning applications, planning conditions, planning appeals, SuDS Approval Body applications and S106 planning agreements ensuring all are answered and delivered within statutory deadlines/KPI’s. This will include:
* Safeguarding the integrity of Welsh Water’s water supply and sewerage assets and mitigate impact of new development on customers and the environment (including impact from CSOs & WwTW on river water quality).
* Contribute towards the company’s objectives to deliver high performance in relation to D-Mex Levels of Service and as a Statutory Consultee in the planning process.
* Co-ordinate the completion and issuing of Developer Impact Assessments (DIA) and Hydraulic Modelling Assessments (HMAs) to facilitate development whilst mitigating the impact on Welsh Water’s infrastructure.
* Managing interactions with external stakeholders i.e. Local Planning Authority (LPA) and developer customers, promoting a more proactive and informed planning function.
* Maintaining good working relations and supporting other functions in Welsh Water in delivering their legislative, environmental and customer requirements, including Wastewater Assets, Asset Strategy, Waste and Water Operational teams, Smart Hub, Capital Delivery, Legal and Estates.

About you
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
* Educated to degree level or equivalent
* Comprehensive knowledge and experience of Town and Country Planning process.
* Experience in planning, water industry and/or environmental role is desirable
* Line management experience and good communication skills – both verbal and written
* Ability to work to tight regulatory and project deadlines
Good to know
This is a hybrid role and you will be required to visit the office around 2 days a week or more depending on the business needs/requirements. This can be based in our Cardiff Linea office or Kinmel Rhyl office.
