About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable production operative to join our clients team. This role involves operating and maintaining machinery across three floors in a continuous production environment. The position is physically demanding and requires flexibility, teamwork, and attention to detail to ensure smooth operations and adherence to quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Health & Safety Compliance: Adhere to company Health & Safety, Hygiene, and Quality policies as outlined in the employee handbook.
* Machine Operation:
* Blend and mix raw materials or use pre-produced films based on job card specifications.
* Operate extrusion lines, conversion machines, and bagging machines at your level of training to meet production targets.
* Perform quality checks and ensure machine operation is efficient and clean.
* Product Packaging:
* Pack and warehouse products following customer requirements and supervisor instructions.
* Maintain accurate and timely production records, including quality checks and product counts.
* Team Support: Work collaboratively with a team of 6-7 colleagues to ensure continuous production during shifts, covering breaks and other tasks as needed.
* Maintenance and Reporting: Maintain cleanliness of work areas and machinery. Report any faults to supervisors for resolution.
* Waste Management: Remove production rejects and prepare them for recycling.
* Additional Duties: Participate in overtime to cover absences and holidays. Undertake other tasks as assigned by the Shift Supervisor or Works Manager to support company operations.

* Physical Capability: Ability to handle the physical demands of the role, including working across three floors accessed via stairs.
* Shift Flexibility: Willingness and ability to work 12-hour day and night shifts in rotation.
* Teamwork: Strong ability to collaborate in a close-knit team environment, providing support as needed.
* Reliability: Commitment to learning and growing within the company, with a focus on long-term employment and progression.
* Transportation: Ability to travel to the site for 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM shift changes. Public transport may not be available at these times.
* Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy in production, quality checks, and record-keeping.
* Basic Literacy: Ability to read, write, and follow instructions effectively
