The Department of Chemistry at Lancaster University is seeking to appoint a full-time Research Associate in Next-generation K-ion Battery Cathodes. This role is indefinite, however subject to funding, which is currently available to 31/01/2027.
The project you will be working on involves the development of next-generation cathodes for K-ion batteries (KIBs). The main duties of the role involve preparing and optimising a series of novel metal fluorides for KIB cathode applications. The key objective of this work is to develop a comprehensive understanding of the relationship between the structure topology of the metal fluoride frameworks and their electrochemical properties.
ABOUT YOU
You will:
1. Have a PhD degree (or nearing completion with thesis submitted for examination) in chemistry or a related discipline.
2. Have experience in practical laboratory research.
3. Have good English communication skills.
4. Be able to demonstrate expertise in X-ray or neutron crystallography, or solid-state NMR.
