Social Worker – Fostering Team (Long Term Temporary – Start ASAP)
Role Overview:
Our client is looking for a skilled Social Worker to join their Fostering Team on a Long Term Temporary basis, starting ASAP. The role involves working with foster carers and children in care to provide support, safeguard children, and ensure their development within the fostering environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assess and support foster carers, ensuring they provide a safe and nurturing environment for children in care.
* Work closely with children and young people in foster placements to support their emotional, social, and developmental needs.
* Conduct thorough assessments of prospective foster carers, including their ability to meet the needs of children placed with them.
* Develop and implement care plans for children in foster placements, ensuring their needs are being met and regularly reviewed.
* Provide training, guidance, and ongoing support to foster carers, helping them to address challenges and maintain stable placements.
* Carry out regular visits to foster placements, assessing the well-being of children and the suitability of the environment.
* Work closely with other professionals (e.g., teachers, health professionals, and other social workers) to ensure the child’s holistic needs are met.
* Produce clear, comprehensive, and child-focused reports for reviews, court hearings, and safeguarding processes.
* Work in partnership with birth families where appropriate, supporting reunification plans where safe and feasible.
* Contribute to the recruitment, assessment, and approval process for new foster carers.
* Ensure that the voice of the child is central to all assessments and plans, ensuring their rights and wishes are respected.
* Participate in supervision, reflective practice, and team meetings to develop best practice within the team.
