Our Temporary Staffing service is looking to recruit bank ICU Sister/Charge Nurses to join the multi-disciplinary teams at both Frimley and Wexham Park Hospital in the ICU Department.
Main duties of the job
Main duties for this role include but are not limited to:
* Taking leadership of the responsibility for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care within the nursing team, responding in an advisory capacity to acute changes in patient condition.
* Acting as a credible clinical role model promoting a patient-centered approach to care, demonstrating advanced clinical practice skills and theoretical knowledge in caring for the complex needs of the critically ill patient.
* Developing standards of patient care based on sound research findings.
* Making a specialist contribution to the teaching of nurses and other healthcare professionals, demonstrating collaborative working and understanding of the practice development strategy.
* Demonstrating a sound knowledge of infection control standards and promoting these within the unit environment.
* Providing legible and comprehensive patient records to agreed Trust and NMC standards and guidelines.
* Dealing with, in conjunction with the Senior Nursing Team, untoward incidents, complaints, and team/staff issues; actioning plans to prevent reoccurrence.
* Taking on the role of Critical Care Nurse in Charge, coordinating admissions, transfers, and workload within the unit.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Current NMC registration
* ENB 998 Teaching and assessing course or equivalent Mentorship preparation course.
* Previous ICU experience at Band 6
* ILS & ALS
Experience
* Experience as a Band 6 or in a leadership role
Skills
* Self-motivated with the ability to motivate others
* Innovative and enthusiastic
* Able to work as an effective team member, problem solve, and demonstrate leadership qualities
* Awareness of current professional nursing issues
* Ability to adapt to change within the working environment
