We are seeking a dynamic and resourceful physiotherapist with a specialist knowledge of surgery and amputees to lead our dedicated team of therapy staff working on the inpatient surgical wards and surgical assessment unit. The role will involve predominantly leading the service providing care to the inpatient surgical wards supporting the assessment, management and safe discharge planning for this client group. There will also be a responsibility to the in and out patient amputee service so the ability to work flexibly across both areas is essential.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be responsible for a team of physiotherapists, occupational therapists and support workers providing care to patients admitted for planned and unplanned surgery. The role will also involve being part of the therapy Band 7 leadership team for the surgical & orthopaedic teams and working closely with our other inpatient teams.
The post also provides support to the amputee service at Southend Hospital so previous experience with this patient group would be an advantage.
The post will include a responsibility for weekend work as part of the acute weekend rota and on-call service.
