Main Duties of the Job
The successful candidate will provide clinical and administrative support for the provision of dental care in Defence Primary Healthcare (DPHC) dental centres (DC), to enhance force generation and operational capability and minimise dental morbidity on operations.
Job Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
* Carrying out and recording daily maintenance, servicing, and pre-use checks of dental equipment, reporting defects in accordance with current equipment care policies.
* Ensuring their surgery is prepared appropriately for the day's patients in accordance with current regulations.
* Being aware of the microbiological hazards that exist in a dental surgery and ensuring they are familiar with the DPHC (D) IPC policy and guidance published by the Department of Health and the British Dental Association.
* Providing dental hygiene treatment in line with their approved scope of practice as per GDC guidelines and in accordance with agreed patient group directive (PGD).

Qualifications
* Fully registered with the General Dental Council without conditions.
Experience
* Knowledge of a range of oral health procedures; acquired through training to degree level or to diploma level plus experience to degree equivalent level.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such, it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
Salary: £29,970 to £36,483 a year (Pro-rata for part-time)
