About This Role
Joining us as an HTA (Health Technology Assessment) Lead UK & Ireland, you will be responsible for securing and maintaining optimal pricing and patient access in line with Biogen’s strategy for the products under your leadership. This role requires close collaboration with the market access team, local commercial and medical teams, as well as global HEOR and Value & Access teams to develop the market access strategy, value proposition, and plans for key stakeholder groups involved in the reimbursement process across the devolved nations in the UK & Ireland.
A core aspect of this role includes leading the preparation and submission of HTA dossiers, ensuring oversight of medical writing, comparative effectiveness evidence synthesis, and economic modelling. You will also develop pricing strategies, manage price negotiations, and influence key decision-makers to secure and implement reimbursement decisions, ensuring patient access to Biogen’s therapies.
Beyond submission preparation, you will develop and implement strategies to optimise positioning, pricing, and uptake in clinical guidelines and tenders at national, regional, and local levels. Additionally, you may contribute to the global V&A team’s efforts by providing insights into clinical trial design, economic modelling, and dossier preparation, further supporting the development of an economic value dossier.
To strengthen the value proposition of Biogen medicines, you may engage in generating and publishing economic evidence, burden of illness studies, and other relevant research. Your role will also involve shaping the external healthcare environment through responding to relevant consultations and representing Biogen on internal and external working groups.
What You’ll Do
* Lead the preparation and submission of HTA dossiers to UK and Ireland agencies, ensuring alignment with Biogen’s market access strategy.
o Design, develop, and interrogate health economic models.
o Synthesize and interpret comparative effectiveness data, such as network meta-analyses.
o Design, collect, and analyze data through systematic literature reviews and database analyses.
o Act as project lead, managing national HTA submissions and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
o Engage with external stakeholders to support market access initiatives.
o Manage project budgets related to HTA submissions.
* Provide expert input on HTA modelling to support internal and external stakeholder needs.
o Keep up to date with evolving modelling techniques and HTA agency requirements.
o Explore different approaches to optimize HTA outcomes and communicate their advantages and disadvantages.
* Develop and execute market access strategies and data generation plans.
o Anticipate and shape future dynamics in the external market access environment.
o Seek advice from external agencies to optimize submission strategies.
o Translate global strategies into actionable affiliate plans.
o Identify and obtain relevant data to support continued reimbursement and access.
* Shape the external market access environment and ensure alignment with Biogen’s internal strategy.
o Collaborate with external affairs to shape key policy discussions and industry engagement.
o Ensure internal teams at Biogen (global and affiliate) are informed of UK & Ireland HTA and access requirements.
* Work cross-functionally with global and local medical and commercial functions to generate evidence and develop value propositions.
o Collaborate closely with commercial and medical teams to align value messaging.
o Develop market access tools and provide training to field teams to support Biogen products.

You are a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of HTA processes, market access, and healthcare systems in the UK & Ireland. You have experience in health economics, pricing strategies, and economic modelling, with the ability to translate complex data into compelling value propositions. A proactive leader, you thrive in cross-functional collaboration and excel at influencing both internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
Required Skills
* Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or related field; MSc in Health Economics or equivalent preferred.
* Significant experience in HEOR, market access, or health economics within the pharmaceutical industry, consultancy, or academia.
* Strong knowledge of UK & Irish healthcare systems, HTA processes, and reimbursement frameworks.
* Expertise in economic modelling, evidence generation, and development of value propositions.
* Proven leadership and project management skills with the ability to manage cross-functional projects.
* Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills to influence key stakeholders.
* Experience in product launch activities, tendering, and procurement environments.
* Ability to work autonomously, prioritize effectively, and navigate ambiguity.
* Proficiency in MS Office and emerging digital tools.
