Research Analyst
Reports to: VP, Research
Location: NYC
We are seeking a Research Analyst with expertise in Excel and quantitative analysis to join the Fortune Higher Education Lists and Rankings team, responsible for Fortune's signature rankings methodologies and analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in the development, creation, and publication of quantitative lists—both existing and new—using sophisticated research and Excel techniques.
* Conduct data analysis to identify trends, market segments, and insights for internal use and for clients and partners.
* Manage and execute email-based correspondence with partners to reach data collection goals.
* Support content creation by providing data-driven insights to editorial, marketing, and sales teams.
* Maintain up-to-date documentation and databases, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
Requirements:
* Minimum 5 years of experience in research, data analysis, or a related field.
* Meticulous organizational skills with a strong attention to detail.
* Knowledge of business metrics and data strongly preferred.
* Experience with the Higher Education industry a plus.
* Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and complex formulae, as well as the ability to use research tools.
* Ability to work independently as well as contribute to overall team projects.
* Strong quantitative analytical skills.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
* Degree in Economics, Statistics, Business, or a related field.
For this role, the estimated base salary range, depending on level of experience, is $65,000.00 - $75,000.00.
This role has a 5-day in the office requirement.
