We are looking for an Executive Officer for the Lord Speakers Office in the House of Lords. In this exciting position you will provide a high level of support to the Lord Speaker and his office. This is an exciting opportunity to work onsite in the Palace of Westminster. This is a fantastic opportunity for candidates who want to focus on providing administrative support to the panel of Deputy Speakers and office management support to the Lord Speakers Office as a whole. Youll be responsible for: Acting as the main point of contact for the Deputy Speakers, including arranging weekly rotas and arranging meetings, including drafting agendas. Managing the flow of documents including correspondence and invoices, commissioning briefing from other teams and offices where required, and following up requests as necessary. Maintaining good awareness of the work of the House and its Administration. Answering general queries from Lords members and other stakeholders. Undertaking general office management tasks and other duties to support the work of the Lord Speaker alongside the Private Office. Professionalism, Tact and Discretion - Excellent judgement and the ability to use tact and discretion at all times. Prioritisation and Delivering at Pace The ability to prioritise own workload and experience of working under pressure and on ones own initiative to tight deadlines. Knowledge and experience of IT systems - Excellent IT skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Teams and Excel.
