Veterinary Care Assistant - Ophthalmology
Our Ophthalmology department is seeking a dedicated Veterinary Care Assistant to support our team of 5 veterinary surgeons and 1 veterinary nurse in delivering exceptional patient care. This is a unique opportunity to work closely with our veterinary professionals, gaining valuable hands-on experience in a dynamic and fulfilling setting.
Your New Role
As an Ophthalmology VCA, you will support the veterinary team in providing specialised care for animals with eye conditions. Your responsibilities will include assisting with examinations, preparing patients for surgery, maintaining a clean and sterile environment, and helping to manage post-operative care. You’ll also be involved in handling animals, administering medications as directed, and ensuring the smooth operation of the ophthalmology department. This role offers a great opportunity to develop your skills in a specialised veterinary field.

Working Hours
The hours for this role are Monday- Friday 9:00am-6:00pm with a 1-hour lunch. There are no weekends or OOHs, but the successful applicant will be expected to participate in a bank holiday rota and part of that will consist of you working 1-2 bank holidays per year.
