We are currently recruiting for a Project Engineer to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team on the Wessex Water Framework on projects ranging from £3m to £8m across the Bournemouth region. You will be reporting to a Project Manager and will be responsible for supporting all technical and commercial aspects of Electrical and Mechanical installations onsite. Candidates ideally will be qualified in Electrical Engineering but should have a good appreciation of mechanical engineering.
Scope of Work:
1. Implement new and upgrade existing assets to reduce nutrient levels, including Phosphorus, in treated wastewater before it is released into waterways.
2. Mechanical and Electrical Installations: Work on new Dosing Skids, storage tanks with level instrumentation, MCERT flowmeters, pumps, actuated valves, penstocks, and access platforms.
3. Upgrades and Exchanges: Upgrade existing lighting and exchange old pumps, valves, flow meters, and instrumentation.
Role & Responsibilities:
4. Attend internal and external design review and progress meetings
5. Review electrical & mechanical design documentation
6. Review specifications and outline designs
7. Procurement of Electrical & Mechanical Equipment and support for subcontract procurement
8. Ensure that site installation works and quality match both design and appropriate industry standards
9. Record and Review as-built information
10. Production of Risk Assessments and Method Statements
11. Programme Updates
12. Procurement schedules
Qualifications/Competency:
13. Degree or HND/HNC in Electrical
14. Water Engineering background preferred
15. Good working Knowledge of Safety, Health Environment and Quality Procedures
16. Microsoft Office and CAD packages
17. Good appreciation of Excel to a ‘Higher’ level
