Your Role: A Day in the Life of an ASD Learning Support Assistant
* Champion Student Success: Provide essential support to students with ASD, helping them navigate both academic and personal challenges.
* Collaborative Problem-Solving: Work closely with teachers and parents to create individualised support plans tailored to each student’s needs.
* Monitor & Motivate: Help implement personalised education plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies, while cheering on progress and growth every step of the way.
* Create & Inspire: Assist in engaging classroom activities and foster a positive learning environment where students with ASD can develop both academically and socially.

What You Bring to the Table
* Experience: Prior experience working with individuals with ASD or special educational needs is a plus.
* Skills: Excellent communication skills to connect with students, parents, and teachers. You’ll need patience, empathy, and a collaborative spirit.
* Education: Minimum GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths. Bonus points for additional qualifications in special education, Autism Awareness, or First Aid!
Preferred Experience & Knowledge
* ASD Expertise: Familiarity with effective strategies for supporting students with ASD is highly valued.
* Previous Experience: Experience in an educational setting is a huge advantage!
Working Conditions
* Location: Primarily based in a vibrant school environment in Chelmsford.
* Hours: Full-time, with occasional flexibility needed for training or meetings.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
