This role will leverage investment in new business solutions by looking for ways to develop applications that make it easier or more cost effective to save lives at sea. Some of the benefits Salary - £49,492 to £58,226 (dependent on experience) 26 days’ annual leave plus Bank Holidays Outstanding pension scheme (contributions of up to 16% of basic salary) Life assurance Health and dental cash plan Your role The successful candidate will establish and lead The Applications Team, responsible for identifying opportunities to develop and enhance applications through the creation of user-friendly and responsive web and mobile applications. You will play a critical role in in developing a small centre of excellence in front-end technologies and user interface development, helping the RNLI to deliver applications that will enhance engagement and satisfaction and ultimately, support those who are part of our mission to save lives. You will also help us establish effective product owners for our major hosted applications. About you To be considered as our new Applications Development Manager you will need: Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field or equivalent experience (e.g. experience in applications / solutions development). Experience with MS technology, business systems analysis / business process transformation, software development and deployment. Understanding of design principles and performance optimisation techniques. Proven experience of working with senior level management to develop applications and/or applications improvements. Experience with agile development methodologies and project management practices is a plus. It is also desirable (but not essential) that you have an understanding of data modelling, data integration, and API consumption, and knowledge of Azure services and cloud computing.
