We are looking for an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist(OT) to join our friendly Childrens Occupational Therapy team inWorcestershire. The successful candidate will be working alongside a dynamicteam of OTs, Assistant Practitioners, Physiotherapists and Specialist PlayNursery Nurses providing a community service to children and young people witha variety of needs. Thepost holder would be based at one of our three bases and will be required totravel across other sites. The service worksclosely with mainstream and special schools, the multi-disciplinary team andour local authority to ensure childrens needs are supported. Our service alsoincludes assessment of specialist equipment therefore knowledge of specialistequipment is desirable.

Main duties of the job
The main duties of this role include:
* Holding a varied caseload completing OT assessments and interventionsincluding assessment for specialist equipment. Being able to identify childrenand young peoples OT needs and develop care plans using a goal settingapproach.
* To supervise and support other members of the therapy service including assistantpractitioners and students.
* Having excellent communication skills including report writing forEducation, Health and Care Plans.
* Knowledge of assessments and treatment options typically used withchildren and a clear understanding of the evidence base.
* Application of policies and legislation related to children, youngpeople and families including safeguarding children.

Person Specification
Experience
* Working in paediatric and/or learning disability settings
* Managing a caseload
* Use of standardised and non- standardised assessment tools
* Setting up therapy programmes
* Supervising assistants and junior staff
Qualifications
* Diploma / Degree in OT or equivalent qualification
* COT membership
* HCPC registration
