Job Purpose:
As the Standalone HR Manager, you will take full ownership of the HR function within the organization, providing strategic and operational support to management and employees. You will develop and implement HR policies, drive talent management initiatives, oversee compliance, and foster a culture of collaboration and high performance. This is a hands-on role that combines both strategic HR leadership and day-to-day HR operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic HR Management
* Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with organizational goals.
* Partner with leadership to advise on workforce planning, organizational design, and succession planning.
* Lead initiatives to strengthen employee engagement, retention, and culture.
* Provide insights and data to inform key business decisions and improve HR processes.
Recruitment and Onboarding
* Manage end-to-end recruitment processes, including role definition, advertising, interviewing, and onboarding.
* Develop talent pipelines and implement strategies to attract top talent.
* Ensure a seamless onboarding process to set new hires up for success.
Employee Relations
* Serve as the primary point of contact for all employee-related matters.
* Handle disciplinary and grievance processes in line with employment law and company policy.
* Support and coach managers on effective people management practices.
HR Operations and Compliance
* Maintain and update HR policies and procedures in compliance with employment law.
* Ensure accurate maintenance of employee records and HR systems.
* Oversee payroll processes (in collaboration with the finance team, if applicable).
* Manage employee benefits programs and ensure timely communication.
Learning and Development
* Identify training needs and create professional development plans.
* Deliver or arrange workshops, training sessions, and performance improvement initiatives.
* Encourage a culture of continuous learning within the organization.
Performance Management
* Manage the annual performance review process and set frameworks for continuous feedback.
* Work with managers to address performance challenges and build effective development plans.
Health and Wellbeing
* Champion workplace health and wellbeing initiatives.
* Manage absence policies, including sickness absence and return-to-work processes.
* Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the organization.
Requirements:
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
* Proven experience as an HR Manager, ideally in a standalone or generalist capacity.
* In-depth knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
* Experience in handling recruitment, employee relations, and HR compliance.
* Strong understanding of HR systems and processes, including payroll and benefits administration.
Desirable:
* CIPD qualification (or equivalent) is highly desirable.
* Experience in a fast-paced or SME environment.
