The Resuscitation Team are looking for a motivated individual who will play a key role in delivering high-quality resuscitation services across the North Bristol Trust sites.
This Secondment opportunity will require the post holder to (a) primarily teach on resuscitation courses, (b) support the Clinical Emergency Team (CET) by attending emergency and/or cardiac arrest calls as a First Responder, and (c) participate with quality improvement projects and audits within the Resuscitation Team.
The post holder will work within the Corporate Clinical Education Team under the direction of the Senior Resuscitation Officers and have close links with the extended Nursing and Quality, Clinical Governance Directorate. The focus of this role is to deliver resuscitation skills training to staff across multiple professions within the Trust and contribute to the planning and delivery of training and clinical skills.
The post holder will act as a resuscitation skills expert, promote safe practices, and continue delivering excellent care via an evidence-based practice approach. When required, the Resuscitation Officer will be required to coordinate and escalate concerns regarding a learner's development to ensure progress and correct processes are adhered to.
The post holder will be required to keep high-quality records and contribute to data collection and reports as appropriate.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will also be responsible for:
* Maintaining and progressing their specialist knowledge in resuscitation and the 'deteriorating patient' and providing advice and guidance.
* Supporting the co-ordination and management of resuscitation training delivery across the Trust in accordance with the current Resuscitation Council UK guidelines.
* Contributing towards supporting, directing, and delivering our National Course programme which includes: ILS, ALS, EALS, ETC.
* Assisting the Deputy Head of Education and Operational Leads for Resuscitation with planning and delivering in-situ simulation, live-demos, clinical simulation, and teaching through scenario-based learning.
* Monitoring, developing, and improving standards of resuscitation by promoting evidence-based practice and ensuring compliance with national and local guidance, e.g., NICE, Resuscitation Council UK.
* Deliver inductions/orientations of newly appointed staff, learners, or other visitors.
* Take responsibility for the scheduling and organising of resuscitation training sessions, including planning dates, times, facilitator numbers, and booking training rooms.
* Involvement with organisational working groups aligned to an agreed workstream and responsible for taking agreed actions forwards, in partnership with the Operational Leads and/or the Deputy Head of Education.
* Remaining clinically current within the area of resuscitation and the deteriorating patient.

Healthcare Professional with current registration (Nurse, Paramedic, ODP etc).
Post-registration experience involving teaching and mentoring staff in clinical skills, education, and/or resuscitation.
Immediate Life Support (ILS) provider.
Teaching qualification (e.g., Facilitating Learning and Assessment in Practice (FLAP), Generic Instructors Course, Preparing to Teach in Life-Long Learning (PTLLS) QCF Level 4, or equivalent ILS/EPLS instructor).
Evidence of relevant and up-to-date continuing education and professional development.
