Joining the JRL Group of Companies you will become a member of the MFLFABRI Team, working alongside Fabrication Operations and Commercial managers, Designers, Programmers and Quantity Surveyors.
MFLFABRI offers a complete cladding and substructure fabrication solution for the group projects, from initial preliminary design to practical site completion, utilizing many materials including Aluminum, Mild Steel and Stainless Steel for various Rain Screen systems, complex feature fascias, soffits and copings, as well as substructure bracketry.
The site and factory coordinator will be the main interface between our Factory and the group sites. The role will ensure that the fabrication information issued by sites is correct and sequenced properly, based on the construction program. Main skills of the role include: interpreting technical drawings, recognizing materials, sequencing fabrication and deliveries, understanding building elevations, taking digital measures, compiling bills of quantities, assessing the buildability of proposed designs, and managing large quantity call-offs.
Roles and Responsibilities
1. MFLFABRI coordination with sites PM’s, QS’s and Designers to agree call-offs, delivery dates, and budgets.
2. Manage and supervise draftsmen producing fabrication drawings and nesting files for production.
3. Support the estimating team in value engineering from GA drawings or elevations for new and existing jobs.
4. Arrange sequencing of call-offs (design and finished product) for the whole lifespan of live jobs.
5. Compile budgets including BoQ; involving materials, labor, plant cost, required equipment, and prelims.
6. Process and coordinate quotes from different entities.
7. Coordinate and report issuing dates of Fabrication drawings vs site programs.
8. Report and solve issues between fabrication drawings and readable files for machines to produce items.
9. Visit sites once a month to coordinate the issuing of fabrication documents i.e. drawings, call-offs, budgets.
10. Project manage the ERP implementation at MFLFABRI.
11. Project manage the powder coating implementation at our yard.
12. Project manage renewable energy projects as required.
13. Document variations and program date movements.
14. Participate in meetings with group companies, suppliers, etc. to discuss project details.
Qualifications – Senior Programmer or Designer in the façade fabrication business. Otherwise, M.Sc. level qualification or above, preferably in construction, physics, or engineering-related subjects.
Key Skills – Experience in Microsoft Office Project (essential) and ASTA desirable. AutoCAD and SolidWorks programming is a must. Technically minded with high attention to detail. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written (essential). Reliable. Ability to work effectively both alone and in a team environment. Ability to read technical drawings and intermediate Microsoft Excel skills desired.
